- weapons assembly -
Three teams at a time will enter the testing building from the prescribed entrance once signaled to do so by the event PI. Teams will move directly to the PI table. Competitors will remain facing the PI table where they will each be issued a set of PVS-14s and a head mount. Teams will don the head mount and PVS-14s, make necessary adjustments, and utilize items provided on the table to satisfactorily focus their PVS-14s. The teams will have 2 minutes to PCI/PCC the issued equipment. If a deficiency is found, the PI will issue a replacement. Once each team is satisfied with necessary adjustments, all three teams will be escorted to the start point of their corresponding testing lane marked with tape on the ground. Competitors will be shown the stop watches with a time of “0” and then lights will be turned off.
Each station will have a tough box containing four disassembled weapons and an overhead ChemLight to illuminate the testing area for NVG usage. Competitors will then assume a kneeling position with their hands on the ground behind the marked start point. The PI will give the command of “GO”, graders will start their stop watch, and all teams will begin assembly of their four weapon systems. Once weapon assembly is complete, teams will signal task completion by assuming a kneeling position and placing their hands on the ground behind the marked start point. Time will stop once both competitors signal completion.
Competitors will be issued two time warnings: 1 minute and then a final warning of ten seconds. At the command of “STOP”, competitors will cease work.
Once a team signals task completion they will not re-enter the testing station. The grader will then conduct function checks on all assembled weapons. Penalties will be issued for every weapon not properly assembled. Each team will be graded based on the number of GOs and then by time. Penalties will be added to the total time.
- intersection / resection -
Competitors will enter the testing area when called forward by the PI. Three teams will test at a time. At the testing station, teams will have the Task, Conditions, and Standards posted. Competitors will be issued a test and a map. There will be different versions of the test given to each individual within a team consisting of 10 questions each. Each team will receive both versions. There is no talking allowed during the test; it will be conducted individually. Testing will be conducted using red lens flash light. For each question not answered, or answered incorrectly, a time penalty will be applied. Once penalties are applied, teams will be graded based on time.
Once complete with the test, the PI will annotate the time for testers on their grade sheet and escort competitors into Holding Area #2. The AI will grade all tests and notify each team of their time and penalties for unanswered or incorrect answers.
- DET CORD LINEAR CHARGE IN FLEX CONFIGURATION -

All tasks will be completed IAW TM 3-34.82 (Explosives and Demolitions dated March 2016). The order of march for teams entering the course will be selected at random as they rotate from the start point.
When teams approach the starting line they will have their FLC on and weapon within arms reach. If completed within the prescribed time standard, penalties will be assessed. A 5 minute time penalty for each deficiency found will be applied to the team’s time.
Once competitors have completed the Demolition Lane they will move to the holding area until they are instructed to rotate to the next Night Stake Event.
